Voyage Through Asia at PISDAC

On Sabbath, April 11, 2026, the Paris International Seventh-day Adventist Church transformed its weekly service into a vibrant celebration of Asian culture—an event as colorful as it was heartfelt.

Members of our church’s Asian community took the helm, guiding the congregation through a thoughtfully curated program. Draped in traditional garb that shimmered with heritage and pride, participants represented a rich tapestry of nations, including China, India, and the Philippines, turning the sanctuary into a living mosaic of cultures.

Music, as ever, became the universal language of the day. The Filipino group offered stirring musical interludes throughout the service, their harmonies resonating and creating moments of reflection and joy into the morning’s worship.

Delivering the message was Brother Gideon, who spoke with quiet resonance on a theme familiar to many in the assembly: the immigrant experience. With honesty and vulnerability, he acknowledged its challenges, yet gently redirected hearts toward hope. Drawing from the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:20–21, he reminded listeners of a higher belonging—that their ultimate citizenship rests not in any earthly nation, but in Heaven.

No cultural celebration would be complete without a feast, and the day’s potluck rose to the occasion with enthusiasm. Plates overflowed with an array of Asian dishes, each one an invitation to travel—if only by taste—across continents. It was a culinary journey that required no passport, only an appetite.

The day concluded on a playful note, as the Asian community led Bible-inspired games in the afternoon. Laughter mingled with reflection, creating a space where fellowship felt lighthearted.

This Asian Day, the 1st in a series of cultural celebrations in 2026, was a reminder of unity in diversity, and of the stories that bind a global community together. More cultural celebrations are already on the horizon at PISDAC, so stay tuned! May God bless you!
