The Paris International Seventh-day Adventist Church (PISDAC) held a special ordination service on January 3, 2026, the first Sabbath of the year. During the service, Br. Mahery Rakotoasimbola was ordained as Second Elder, assuming a key leadership role in the church for the 2026–2027 term.
At the same service, Br. Harry Wanki, Br. Dennis Magare, and Br. Rey Indat were ordained as Deacons, while Sr. Faith Nganyi, Sr. Magdalena Makumbati Silas, Sr. Hanna Sy, and Sr. Lindel Anastacio were ordained as Deaconesses, bringing the total number of officers serving in these roles to nineteen.
The service was presided over by Church Pastor Dr. Sunghyun Yoon, who reminded the leaders of the story of Bartimaeus, who called out to Jesus and received his sight. He emphasised that church leaders must remain dependent upon God as they carry out their duties, noting that leadership in the church begins with spiritual sight, not position or title.
In their acceptance messages, the newly ordained leaders shared that, though young like Paul, they sought the guidance of the Holy Spirit and committed themselves to serving God faithfully before the congregation.
The ordination service marks the commencement of the officers’ term of service under the overall leadership of Br. Collins Kakaya, the First Elder.
