A Weekend of Faith, Fellowship, and Renewal at the PISDAC Camp Meeting

Surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation, worshippers gathered at Parc de Roches in Saint Chéron for the PISDAC Camp Meeting on Sabbath, 20 June 2026, stepping away from the familiar walls of church buildings to worship in nature. Although scorching temperatures marked the weekend, the shade of the trees and the refreshing natural surroundings provided a comfortable setting, reminding attendees of God’s provision and care. Birds could be heard singing in the trees, adding to the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the gathering.

Against this backdrop of creation, Pastor Yoon delivered a sermon centered on the theme of being « seen, known, and loved by God.”

Preaching from John 3, Pastor Yoon focused on the story of Nicodemus, who sought out Jesus but was told that he must be « born again » to see the kingdom of God. The message challenged attendees to look beyond religious routine and experience a personal, transforming relationship with Christ.

Addressing a congregation representing many nationalities and backgrounds, Pastor Yoon reminded worshippers that while people do not choose the circumstances of their physical birth, God offers everyone the opportunity for a new life in Him. He encouraged members to find their identity and acceptance in Christ rather than in the world.

« Many people spend their entire lives searching for acceptance while never discovering who they truly are, » he said. « Today, we come to God to be seen, to be known, and to be loved. »

Pastor Yoon emphasised that true Christianity involves spiritual transformation rather than religious routine. He called on believers to recognise their need for God, personally accept Jesus Christ, and surrender daily to His leading in order to experience the miracle of new birth.

Alongside the main Divine Service, the Pathfinders and Adventurers held a parallel worship programme led by Elder Ndabe, featuring Bible messages, singing, and activities organised by the Master Guides, including a treasure hunt and other games.

The camp was further enriched by morning, afternoon, and evening devotions led by Br. Clifford and Br. Eric, who encouraged campers through God’s Word, prayer, and fellowship.

Sunday’s programme included a morning devotion, a road run and walk through the scenic surroundings, as well as a swimming session that provided relaxation and recreation for the campers.

Throughout the weekend, Sr. Wawie and Br. Ongo ensured that everyone was well catered for, with mealtimes serving as valuable opportunities for fellowship and meaningful conversation.

At the close of the camp, Elder Kakaya thanked Camp Master Br. Clifford, along with the campers, volunteers, and organisers who contributed to the success of the event.

« Above all, we thank God for His guidance, for the spiritual messages that were shared, and for the precious moments of fellowship we enjoyed together, » he said. « May the lessons learned, the friendships strengthened, and the memories created continue to bless us in the days ahead. »

Elder Kakaya also expressed hope that the camp meeting would become an annual gathering for the church family, providing  many more opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and lasting memories together.
