Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I welcome you with heartfelt gratitude and deep humility as your pastor, appointed by the grace of God to serve the Paris International Seventh Day Adventist Church since September 2023.
I was born in South Korea on 22 March 1974, and I was blessed to grow up in a Christian family where worship, faith, and Christian education shaped my early walk with God. In my twenties, I personally experienced the transforming love of Christ, and that encounter led me to dedicate my life fully to His service. Since then, the Lord has guided my ministry journey through Australia, New Zealand, East Timor, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, and now France.
I was ordained to the gospel ministry on 30 January 2012. In 2024, the Lord enabled me to complete a Doctor of Philosophy in Religion at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies, with a focus on Systematic Theology. My wife Jiwon and our three children—Hyein (Ella), Youngin (Joshua), and Yein (Emma)—share the joy of serving the Lord together as a family. Today, I am blessed to serve this congregation, as well as the Paris Korean and Paris Tamil Seventh Day Adventist Churches.
As your pastor, my sincere desire is to follow the example of the servant leadership of Jesus Christ. My prayer is to uplift the character of God, proclaim the everlasting gospel of the Three Angels Messages, and encourage every member to grow as a joyful and committed disciple of Jesus. I hold close the words of Scripture:
“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.”
First Peter 5:2–4, NIV
With this calling, I look forward to walking together with you in prayer, worship, fellowship, and mission.
My hope and vision for our church family is that the Paris International Seventh Day Adventist Church will be a spiritual home where everyone feels welcomed, strengthened by God’s Word, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be a faithful witness of His grace. May our daily lives in Paris shine with the love of Christ as we joyfully share the hope of His soon return.
May the Lord bless you, keep you in His peace, and strengthen you until His glorious coming.
With love and continual prayer,
Pastor. Sung-Hyun Yoon PhD
